My first piece with *Zueuk's 3D Apophysis. :w00t: This was done with the 3DjulianZ variation if I recall correctly.

It took some tinkering and some advice from the kind folks at #Apophysis (especially ~rocknrollismyguitar ) for me to get the 3D spheres, but once I did, everything else started coming together. So I credit them with getting me this far. I tried altering some of my Grand Julians first, but got nowhere fast. So I decided to do a fresh one from scratch. This is the result.

Expect a few more 3D pieces from me. :D

Border and title in Photoshop 7.0. The fractal itself is straight from the render.

I think I'll make this a series, too. The title alone would fit quite a few Julians/Grand Julians. :aww:

PS. Surprisingly the Apo3D's renderer is stable. :O_o: I've had so many problems with prior versions' renderers I had just decided to see what this one's would do. So far, quite nice. Also, does anyone know if there's going to be a flam3 hack sometime to support the Z-axis in fractal renders from this version of Apo? I got the impression that rendering had to be in the Apophysis due to the z-axis aspect.

Thanks. :D I had fun making this one. Kind of an unusual experience having to think of gradients and fractals in a more 3D perspective.

Years are like fractals. The more you've seen of them, the more you appreciate the details of each one, rather than how many you've seen.

Thank you. I tinkered with the pitch and yaw until I got something that looked like a mix of angled perspective, and rounded spheres. It's fun thinking in 3 dimensions for a change.

Changes - they make us who we are. Without them we do not move on. But with them we carry heavy hearts, full of memories (both pleasant and painful) and hopes (for future happiness).

oh yeah...this is fantastic.....it's official.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.

Hop over to *Zueuk's journal for the link to the release if you want to play with it yourself.
