C O R R I D O R

A ship, fresh to the realms of interstellar explorations, discovers a massive nebula. The crew decides to investigate it further--the scientists for their gaseous analyses, the explorers for the unknown, the artists for the paintings, and the philosophers for the view of Heaven. Now the ship is so close that the nebula blocks out the glow of all the stars behind it.

All brushwork, eraserwork in Photoshop 7.0. That fuzzy white glow is a subtle Diffuse Glow effect that I set at a level that allowed the hard edges in my brushwork to show.

I'm also trying to do bigger images than I'm used to. This one's 2000 by 1500. Not huge by any stretch, but definitely allowing for more details to be put in without suddenly discovering that 5 pixels is still too big.
