This is actually an old fractal. Anyone remember that purple-and-gold checkerboard pbClone putz fractal I had a while ago
Well, I got bored, Apo wasn't giving me anything good to work with, and I decided to dig in the parameters to see what I'd saved. (Actually I was looking for one whose render took 18 some hours on a freaking basic SINUSOIDAL fractal with a sinusoidal final transform, but...bah)
Anyways I found the checkerboard one, and noodled about with some final transforms.
This is the result--recolored, re-backgrounded, and de-grained as best as blur tool and sizing down could.
Background, de-graining, border, and title done in Photoshop 7.0
Thanks. I had fun doing this one, since it came right after a revelation on how the other bubble-fractals came together. I kick myself for being so slow sometimes...
I've been trying to get Apo to cough up some variants of that, but my creativity with fractals seem at a lull.
Eh, I might try again tonight.
Now I HAVE to do another one of these.
