Finally. Apo and I finally found a fractal I could get along with enough to make the "solar flare" effect that you see around a total eclipse. Otherwise I don't think this would've worked.
That was NOT an easy one-- getting a rotational fractal plus gradient that I thought looked right for the effect.
Anyways, the fractal itself has not been altered in any way beyond a little blurring to take the jaggies out. The water, title, and everything else was done in Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
Not sure what I'm going to do next. I'm running out of ideas, so I may parse out future elements of this series, or just start another one when the ideas hit.
I'm really not sure here. There's only so many ways to do the "fractal in the sky above water" effect before I run out of ways to do it and start reusing certain elements. As you'll notice this looks a bit like that fractalized moonrise I did earlier in this series. Kinda hard to top off the Terragen/Fractal one, lol.
