Okay....most of you have seen~TwinklePowderySnow's humanized PotatOS, and most of you have seen my design on PotatOS.

Well, Twinkle and I were just chatting over how miserable mine looked, and somewhere along the line I suggested the idea of hers hugging mine. Another commenter was all "poor spuddy buddy" at how miserable my PotatOS looked.

Sooo, here we are! Spuddy Buddies!

Except they look so sad.

I think mine's bawling about how the bird pecked out one of her eyes or something. Twinkle's just looks sad about the general state of things. Both are probably going in their heads: "I can't feel the facility anymoooooore!"

Okay I think I've had enough sad stuff. Time to draw something cutesy and with rainbows. Nyan GLaDOS, any--*hit with a Crusher from the ceiling. SPLORCH*

I forgot how long this took, but it turned out nice.

Thank you. And yes, mission accomplished - wanted people to feel for them. I know it's all hilarious that GLaDOS got stuck in a potato, but danged if it doesn't make everyone feel for her, when all we did was hate her.

I never found myself hating her really, X3 it's tough love LOL, though my second time around in the game...I let that crow peck at her a little longer just to hear what she had to say x3

It's not so much that I hated her, it's that at first, she seemed just evil. Now she's got more dimension to her.

I think in general, when you start to give a not-so-nice character a backstory, a history, a reason for them to be the way they are, people tend to at least undertsand, if not like them more.

Very true! It's such a tragic past..it's hard to stay mad at GLaDOS for the things she says.

Agreed - very tragic, and it makes her much more human.

From moments when I've come out with an annoyed monotone/sarcastic quippy tone that sounds a bit like hers, I've noticed it comes out of moments of irritation, annoyance, and even a sense of betrayal (betrayal of expectations). For some reason attempting to imitate the voice doesn't work for me, but put me in a mood close enough to it...

I remember ranting to my mom about something, and realizing about a third of the way through I'd said the rant in an almost GLaDOS voice. Hahaha.

Magnify that feeling times 1000 for what happened to Caroline, and it's no wonder GLaDOS is so nasty sometimes.
