Chrome's Borg ID by DeepChrome Chrome's Borg ID by DeepChrome
Thanks to my Borg kick, I thought it was time to assimilate both my ID and avatar.

Here's the ID. Character drawn with Aiptek tablet and pen, and the background's a heavily Photoshopped Apophysis fractal I had lying around. Everything's done in Adobe Photoshop 7.0.

The Borg are copyright Paramount Studios. :D

Dear member of the collective:

I currently have a program that would allow me to animate your avatar. Inform me of your decision.

Ooh, I may have to try that, and tell one of my Flash using friends about it. Let's just say he has such a love-hate relationship with Flash that I start thinking that his puter's exercising some weird fetish on him half the time now.

Would it help if I said the background has a heavily Photoshopped fractal in it? XP

On another note, you'll notice not all my art is assimilated at the time being. :aww: I still have a mind. It just likes the Borg right now.

Hm...does a human combined with machinery, but still has a soul: Is it still human? Many have pondered and aguished over that question, from Astro Boy to The Androids to Steve Austin (the bionic man, not the wrestler). So fair borg, what are you? :?

 Good questions, all of them.

I would think if it started as a human or living thing--it would definitely have a soul. As would a Borg. Doesn't mean the soul had any say in what the body did within the Collective though.

As for machines, pure AI, I think past a certain level of self-awareness, sentience, and being able to influence its environment, it might evolve to the point of having a soul. :)

Hmm. I could do that with my avatar. That is if the friend (~QuinnDx) ever manages to keep his current Flash project from dismembernig him. I suck at animation, but he doesn't. :aww:

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm definitely looking into that. :D
