Crazy Homeworld Portrait 3 by DeepChrome Crazy Homeworld Portrait 3 by DeepChrome
Yup. Karan S'jet, in her fishtank, complete with a few schools of fish. :D I traded my sketchbook in for a waterproof digital tablet. :D

Karan: "Does this pose make me look good?"
Me: "Uhm, I was halfway into your LAST pose, but okay." *erases, starts over*
Karan: *shifts pose again* "How about this one?"
Me: "No offense, but please....could you stick with a pose for more than five minutes? I'll be in here forever."

As you've noticed, I posted the "formal" digital painting of Karan. So of course, I had to do a Crazy Portrait too.

Done in Photoshop 7.0 with Aiptek digital tablet and pen.

Homeworld, Homeworld 2, and all their characters, ships, and whatnot, are copyright Relic Entertainment and Vivendi Universal.

Always tough to debate wherever she is either naked or is just wearing a very skintight nanosuit

The pictures of her from Homeworld 2 suggest the nanosuit. I think that was mostly just for the sake of decency. In the first Homeworld, there doesn't seem to be any indication of clothing as she's usually just a shilouette.

it's a rough drawing but the idea is brilliant!! (Karan was commanding out of a fishtank)

Aaaw, good to see that Karan got some fish in her tank to keep her company. I mean, I can imagine how lonely it must get floating around there for hundreds of years. And you can't read books of anything, the paper wouldn't survive. Man, if it weren't the fact that one of the most powerful spaceships in the galaxy is connected to her brain, I would feel kinda sorry for her. Looks like she enjoys the company in this pic, too. And the sketchyness actually doesn't bother me, since it connects to the sketchy black-and-white style of the cutscenes of the games. Cute!

Thanks. :D I was doing black and white mostly as a "get it done quickly without mucking about with colors" thing to do with values, but then I guess I was aiming for cutscenes anyways, so it worked out.

Hrm. I just realized I forgot the Kadeshi Ambassador from HW1. >_> (Yeah, I get a loving for the needleship NOW, but not back when I did these pictures. Sheesh. Lemme add the Kuun-Lan's Commander to that list as well. :giggle: )

But...how do you draw a guy stuck in a swarmer? And those things don't look like they have much room for some poor artist to cram into with her sketchpad. :lmao:

So, how'd the paper survive the journey into the tank?

Used an electronic tablet inside there. Paper wouldn't make it. ;)

Rough, extremely rough. Still, I think it's good for what you did with it. Well done.
