Just some random putterings with ngon final transform and the like. Kinda minimalist for me, but I liked how it turned out.

Background, title, and border done in Photoshop with no adjustments done to the fractal itself.

Apophysis 2.06c, with flam3 external renderer.

Thanks. :) I just had to do something different, and finally figured out how they did some of those techy looking disc variations, then went "zomg NOW I can do those funky NGon shapes!"

This was the result of that puttering around.

looks like it should be a 'title page' of something. like an introduction to a cv, or a book title or somthin. cool. simple. and my fave colour of course! ;p

Thanks. Yeah it has a nice graphic-design-for-something kind of quality. :D I'll probably save the original .png render for a project like that.

flam3 external renderer? How do you get hold of that, then? I'd love to improve the quality of my renders (although maybe I should just stop rendering as JPEGs...).

Oh, nice fractal, by the way.

Google it. :D Then when you've got it downloaded, go to Export Flame in Apophysis rather than Render Flame. :D

I render mine as .png's. Saves render time, and lets you work on the background in art programs instead of Apo, where it's a bit more guesswork as to what works.

I don't normally work with PNGs, because dA doesn't like them (they take about ten times longer than JPEGs to upload). I'll see what the external renderer can do for me, though.

Can we expect another Halloween Nebula this year?

What I do....is this.

I render as PNG. Then layer on PS, and play with the background underneath. Once I'm happy, I flatten to JPEG, and save to DA as a JPEG. :D

The PNG format is strictly for time-saving in rendering. :D

Does that help? :D

And yes, I'll do another one this year.

Minimalistic, yes, but I really really like it. It works. :3 And is a fun stylistic departure from some of your other stuff.

Yeah, which is why I did it. It felt different. It felt kinda out of my usual style and comfort zone. And it was fun. So I thought I'd try it. :D
