restrained by DeepChrome restrained by DeepChrome
Been a while, I was bored, noodled about with Apo in Cylinder variation, and got this after some puttering about.

It would've been my entry to Aeries' Fractal Light contest if not for a few notable jaggies near the bottom that took some blurring and filterwork to get rid of. As he wants a completely untouched fractal render, this wouldn't have qualified.

Ohwell. I'll render another tonight and see if I can't get it to behave. :D

Enjoy.

Apo 2.03, PS 7.0.

Don't know what it reminds me of... but I like it. Beautiful colors on this one. the jagginess near the bottom is noticeable, but not too bad. Faved.

Thanks. I did another one last night, hopefully it doesn't have the jaggies this time. :shakefist:

Glad you liked it. Thanks for the fave.

Vry nice. Somehow it is very good. I wish i could do fractals.

It looks like some kind of flourescent tube with smoke comin out of it. Wierd...

That was the idea. I have this novelty lamp with sequins floating about in liquid in a tube like that...I think it got to me subconsciously when I was doing this. :D

This is very nice. It accurately conveys the sense of containment and binding that I think you were shooting for. Very impressive.

The single bluish glow in the center of the fractal seems slightly out of place, almost like it's too small, or simply shouldn't be there. Other than that, I'll bet it would make a wonderful bookmark.

I especially love the color of this one. I do agree with an earlier comment -- it does indeed look like a stylishly rendered lamp. :) I want one.

Thank you. :D And yeah it does have the novelty lamp look to it. I think it's part of why I liked it enough to render. :D

I'll probably do another one, maybe with some polar and other stuff into the variations so it'll look even more spectacular. :D

I can see some Star Wars fan sticking this in a pic in place of a lightsaber blade.

Ooh, this is really really attractive. I love the color scheme and I'm really enjoying the vertical orientation. Also, the wrapping of the tentacle arms is a cool technique that really does add this feel of energy bursting forth, but being contained. Great work!

Thanks. I had fun puttering with triangles and the gradient to make this one work. Glad you liked it. :D

I have seen some of that kind of stuff, which is what partially inspired the tall upright look to this. So yeah. They'll probably make those soon at this rate. Novelty lamps seem to have made a nice comeback. Thanks. :)
